Evogen, Inc., adds new CEO, COO to management team

Evogen, Inc., the makers of detection systems for biological threats, recently announced the addition of a new president and chief executive, and a new chief operating officer.

Evogen, formerly known as Sceptor Industries, said that it expects the new management team to reinvigorate and reposition the company as an industry leader for sensitive sample collections for government and private sector clients.

Hans Kastensmith, the new president and CEO, is a well-known industry leader who brings 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has founded, managed, financed and advised a number of healthcare tech and population health management operations. He has experience in private and public healthcare facilities, and he has lead three corporate acquisitions for a public company.

Robert Dondes, Evogen's new COO, is also an accomplished executive with experience in the public and private sector. He sits on the board of a major medical device company and brings in-depth knowledge of the investment business from his work as a senior advisor with several public equity and venture capital management firms.

Evogen is a molecular diagnostics collection and biological agent detection system company that specializes in DNA extraction methodologies, air collection and monitoring, and proprietary PCR probe technology. The company is based in Lenexa, Kansas.
