Emergent BioSolutions' Fuad El-Hibri named Tech Council of Maryland's executive of year

Fuad El-Hibri, the executive chairman of Maryland-based Emergent BioSolutions, Inc., has been named the Executive of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland, the state's largest association for life science and technology.

El-Hibri was presented with the award at the 24th Annual Tech Awards, which celebrates collective and individual contributions of companies and leaders in the area. Emergent BioSolutions is a vaccine and therapeutic development company based out of Rockville and Gaithersburg, Md.

"For the last 14 years, as the leader of Emergent BioSolutions since its founding in 1998, I have been continuously impressed by the caliber of talented professionals who collectively contribute to the company's success," El-Hibri said. "Throughout our history of growth, one aspect has remained constant and central in our quest to make a positive impact in the community; that is the shared passion and commitment to live out our corporate mission - to protect life. This award is dedicated to the Emergent team."

The Executive of the Year award honors company leaders who have made exceptional contributions to their organization and have increased its success due to their leadership abilities. The panel of judges for the award considers leaders in the Maryland biotechnology or technology community who are skilled at taking deliberate risks and who are responsible for the growth of their companies.
