CFD seeks assistant homeland security commissioner

The Chicago Fire Department (CFD) is looking to hire an assistant commissioner for the department's homeland security programs, a job listing posted on Tuesday said.

This position would be responsible for the management and coordination of all homeland security programs, projects and other issues. This position also acts as a liaison to the Chicago Police Department, the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Cook County Department of Homeland Security.

This person is also expected to inform the district chief and the Office of the Fire Commissioner of projects' status and other related issues.

Each candidate should have a bachelor's degree and at least four years' worth of managerial experience. Candidates are also required to have a valid Illinois driver's license and the following Incident Command System Certifications: 100, 200, 700 and 800.

Each candidate must be a resident of Chicago, and if hired, will be required to submit information regarding educational and employment histories in relation to this position. Official transcripts, licenses and certifications will need to be submitted with the application.
