During a visit to the Netherlands, Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Philip Breedove discussed cooperation and readiness at the Future Force Conference that took place in The Hague Wednesday and Thursday.

In attendance were officials from the Dutch government and military including Chief of Defense and the Netherlands Armed Forces Gen. Tom Middendorp. Breedlove emphasized the importance of sharing intelligence and investment in modernization activity within national military space.

"NATO nations are responding, nationally, multi-laterally and collectively to address the risk of Hybrid Warfare in its various forms," Breedlove said. "Implementing and operationalizing the Readiness Action Plan is fundamental to our security and addressing the evolving strategic security environment, as are the multiple lines of work NATO has initiated since the Wales Summit. Combined, these Alliance actions will make us more prepared for Hybrid Warfare and more secure in this very challenging and dangerous 21st century.

Breedlove also spoke about the NATO Response Force and developments and preparedness against hybrid threats. He pointed out the work of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force and the role that the Netherlands Armed Forces have played in projects such as cyber defense strategy and test-bed development for the force.
