Environmental Tectonics Corp.'s Simulation Division, known as ETC Simulation, recently received a contract to provide the Jordan General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD) with an Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS).
Once installed at the Civil Defense Academy, the ADMS can be used to train staff to respond to natural or man-made disasters, including earthquakes, floods, forest and industrial fires, mass casualty triage and aircraft incidents. The system sharpens critical decision-making skills used during emergency response and disaster management.
The system will be customized for Jordan, with integrated maps, simulated vehicles with crews and a high fidelity Jordanian city environment. This localization is necessary to train standard operating procedures and improve disaster management plans.
A key feature of the system is the After Action Review tool, which will include voice recording capabilities to enhance playback of training communication. The user interface will be in Arabic as well as English.
An augmented reality firefighting training simulator will also be included to provide a more effective training method for firefighting and ventilation techniques. It includes the option to connect a fire hose trainer as an additional module.
