Telecom baskets ban basketball blocked early end of season at Bundesliga. On Saturday, Bonn won the third playoff semifinal at Bayern Munich 86-84 (45-40) and reduced the top five series to 1-2. Bayern have a chance to win another game on home soil next Monday and advance to the final.
The Bon team got off to a great start, finding various attacking options and taking the lead 24:20 during the quarter-break, thanks to three excellent assignments. After the sixth successful throw from a distance, the guests were in the middle of the second round, thanks to Jeremy Morgan, in double digits for the first time. With Gavin Shilling on the pitch, Bayern stopped Bonn’s 10-0 and reduced the lead to 40-45 at the break.
In the third half, Munich gradually recovered and equalized a minute before the break. After a 6-0 run, the spectators chased down a 9-0 lead in the fourth round, but the hosts equalized again with 66 seconds left. Javonte Hawkins, the top scorer with 19 points, blocked a transfer to Carston Tata Munich’s Nick Wheeler-pop on the other side after giving Ban a 85:84 lead with a converted free throw.
