Department of Commerce seeks an emergency management specialist

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced a job opening for an emergency management specialist at their Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, Virginia, on Friday.

This person will be tasked with identifying the necessary measures and actions needed so that the USPTO remains viable during an emergency situation with regard to executive orders and security directives issued nationally or by the president. This person will also provide guidance to office personnel while an emergency is occurring that affects the office's operations. This position is also responsible for the development and implementation of office emergency plans.

Candidates must meet the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's qualification requirements, for this position candidates will need at least one year of working experience at a position equivalent to the GS-11 level of governmental employment. This position requires specialized experience in emergency management and planning for a large spectrum of emergency situations and disasters. This person will need experience in assisting in the development of training materials and to be able to educate personnel on plans and preparedness practices .
