Russian and Ukrainian warplanes attacked opposing positions in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday. In addition, the gunners of both sides fought fierce artillery duels, the Ukrainian General Staff announced in the evening without specifying the exact positions. According to Ukrainian sources, two Russian electronic warfare systems were destroyed. The information cannot be independently verified.

New Russian artillery attacks have been reported from the small town of Avdiivka in Donbass. Although the remaining residents have recently been called several times to leave the city, according to Mayor Vitaly Barabash, civilians remain in the city. “There are still eight kids in town, but you have to be a spy eager to find them,” Ukraineska Pravda quoted him as saying. Avdiivka is about 15 kilometers north of the rebel- and Russian-held city of Donetsk.
