Welcome spring, elegant warmth and bright sunshine. After long, dark months, we feel listless, tired and drained. Please, we need to restart. Sometimes just a really good day is enough to make your body and mind feel good again. And now it’s time: we start with a detoxifying breakfast of refreshing rhubarb yogurt.
If we prepare rhubarb compote the night before, we sit very comfortably at the table or in bed in the morning and enjoy ourselves, healthy and happy. And you can also make your own yogurt, because we have a very easy yogurt recipe. But store-bought yogurt is great, too. You shouldn’t put yourself under too much pressure. We all know that yogurt is healthy. But what about the rhubarb in our rhubarb yogurt? I will tell you that after we have given you other great recipes using healthy sticks:
Originally hailing from the Himalayas, rhubarb made its way to medieval Russia and eventually to other parts of Europe. We especially appreciated its sour taste, which gives a special touch to rhubarb yogurt. The stems contain the so-called anthranoid glycoside. They are botanicals that promote bowel movement and help get rid of toxins faster. That’s why you put together a detox day and enjoy rhubarb yogurt. Do you have any other questions? In our cooking school, we will learn about other foods and how to prepare them. There we present about 5 foods that contain a particularly large amount of vitamin D.
Detox breakfast: rhubarb yogurt
Homemade treat: rhubarb yogurt
Peel the rhubarb, wash and cut into pieces. Simmer with 100 ml of water, sugar and lemon juice for 5-8 minutes, then strain.
Mix the cornstarch with 6 tablespoons of water and add to the rhubarb, bring to a boil. Pour off the juice and add more sugar to the rhubarb, if needed. Leave to cool and pour into a nice mug in layers with natural yogurt, because eyes always eat too.
