Late setback against Benfica – Ajax removed

Some experts have listed Ajax Amsterdam as a secret favorite for the CL title. Therefore, the Dutch fought against Benfica. But there was a major setback.

Ajax missed Amsterdam in the Champions League quarter-finals. The secret option was to beat BVB (4-0, 3-1) twice in the group, losing 0-1 to Benfica. The first leg ended 2-2, which is why they lost at home. The decisive goal for the Portuguese from Lisbon came late. In the 77th minute, Darwin Nunes scored and Johan Groof broke the deadlock.

This is how the game went

Amsterdam dominated from the start and sometimes crowded the guests, but the hosts did not create any great opportunities. Lisbon defended efficiently but rarely put Pinbrix.

Ajax is high after conversion, but very harmless. There was little to see the highlight of the two wins against Borussia Dortmund in the opening round. Sebastien Holler, who has always scored in the first seven games in the Premier League, is often out of touch.

Lisbon rarely progressed, but got the first chance to take the lead. Nunes hit the head from a free kick.
