Comparing Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: A fun but unfair rivalry

Motorola’s New Edge Series Phone Compared to Samsung’s Flagship Model

Motorola has recently unveiled its latest premium Edge series phone, the Edge 50 Pro, and comparisons are already being made against Samsung’s flagship model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Priced at €699, the Edge 50 Pro is significantly more affordable than the S24 Ultra, which comes in at €1,569. Despite the price difference, both phones share similarities in certain areas.

One major difference is the availability of the phones; Motorola has not announced a US variant for the Edge 50 Pro, while the S24 Ultra is available worldwide. Various factors were analyzed, including design, display quality, performance, software support, camera capabilities, audio, haptics, battery life, and charging speed.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes equipped with a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 found in the Edge 50 Pro. Additionally, Samsung offers 7 years of Android updates and security patches for the S24 Ultra, while the Edge 50 Pro has 3 years of updates and 4 years of security patches.

The S24 Ultra features a higher resolution display, better durability, and more advanced camera capabilities. On the other hand, the Edge 50 Pro is known for its efficient battery life and faster charging speed. Ultimately, the decision of which phone to purchase comes down to individual user preferences and priorities, as both phones offer unique features and capabilities.
