Adama Traoré and Luuk de Jong’s time at FC Barcelona is over. The duo will deposit their domestic clubs after the loan deals expire.
For Traore, six months in Catalonia have been a homecoming: the 26-year-old Spaniard grew up with Barcelona’s youth team, but gained a foothold in professional football in England.
The striker has been loaned by Wolverhampton Wanderers, with whom he is contracted for another year. Barcelona was supposed to pay 30 million euros for the release clause. In 20 matches, mostly from the bench, he failed to score.
De Jong returns to Sevilla after a year. The 31-year-old Dutch striker was far more successful than Traore in Barcelona’s year with seven goals in 29 appearances. His contract with the La Liga rival runs until next summer. He was a favorite player for Ronald Koeman.
The striker will only stay briefly in Seville, where he is set to return home to Eindhoven. ÖFB Corps club Philip Moeny should lie about four million euros.
