American Red Cross looks for disaster program manager in North Carolina

The American Red Cross recently posted a job opening on its website for a disaster program manager in the Carolina Region, to work in the Greensboro, North Carolina, office.


The program manager will provide support for the regional disaster and program officer. They will be a member of disaster paid staff team.


The person hired will work to ensure full disaster services are provided in Guilford County, and complete regional responsibilities. They will lead and manage a volunteer team responsible for implementing disaster preparedness, response and recovery programs.


The program manager will be responsible for local preparation, and recovery management, as well as serve as a liaison to local and regional governments within the assigned territory. The role will require attention to program activity and complexity, grant funding, geography, risk, population, frequency of emergency events and regional structure.


The manager will work in cooperation with the regional disaster and program officer and community executives.


Qualified applicants will have five years of experience in social services or implementing social programs. They will have experience in coordinating staff and volunteers, as well as the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.


Applicants must have the ability to interpret program tends, results and related data to provide recommendations. A minimum of one to three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
