FifthVitamin D is also called the sunshine vitamin because it can be produced by the body itself through exposure to sunlight.
Vitamin D has a wide range of effects on the body: Vitamin D is important for the psyche because it can combat depression and chronic fatigue.
Vitamin D is important for the immune system because it boosts the production of immune cells. It also controls calcium absorption and thus bone formation.
It is responsible for protecting nerve cells, creating new nerve cells and nerve connections, and has a positive effect on skin and hair. Vitamin D is also important for regulating the intestinal flora and for digestion, as well as for the muscles.
In winter, our skin is less exposed to sunlight and our body cannot produce vitamin D itself. Then you have to resort to preparations, but before that a test must be done to find out the correct dosage.
