On Tuesday, Felix Brych refereed a match on the big stage for the last time. His international career ends with Real Madrid’s best match – Inter.

The 46-year-old, who will continue to whistle in the Bundesliga, will be the record holder. No referee has played 69 Champions League matches and 16 qualifying matches so far.

Work began on the international stage for Brych on 25 July 2007 (IF Elfsborg/SWE Boras vs FC Linfield/NIR in CL Qualifiers). It is no coincidence that his career ended in Madrid. Breisch has whistled more at “Royal” than any other club in the “First Division” – on Tuesday it will be the 12th time.

EM as rehabilitation

Breish also went through difficult times in his career. In the 2018 World Cup, the lawyer was removed from the tournament after only one match. Brich fell between the fronts in a heated match between Switzerland and Serbia (2:1).

By this summer at the latest, Brisch has rehabilitated himself to shame. In the EURO he received more recognition than ever before.
