Hospitalizations due to Covid 19 continue to decline in Occitanie, but infection rates are rising in many departments, notably Aveyron and Lauser. The regional health agency is advocating not to relax in vigilance.
In its latest update, on Tuesday, October 19, 2021,Occitanie Regional Health Agency (ARS) confirms the decrease in the number of hospitalizations in health institutions in the region: 494 hospitalizations, or 22 less than three days ago. There are 90 people in intensive care or in intensive care and there is, again, a slight decrease compared to last Friday (-3).
However, the health authorities warn about the situation in Loser and Aveyron: in these two provinces of the Occitanie region, infection with the virus is increasing again. The incidence there exceeds the alert limit of 50 cases per 100,000 population: 70.4 in Aveyron and 78.7 in Minister.
Infection rates are also rising in the departments Tarn, Pyrenees-Orientales, Hautes-Pyrenees, Hérault and Arièges, but to a lesser extent.

More than 250,000 tests have been carried out in Occitanie in the past seven days: 0.9% of them are positive, on average.
