Street artist Banksy’s graffiti in Lowestoft in eastern England is a tourist attraction. Above all, the large-sized seagull on the wall of the house attracted people. But both of them are gone now.

In the eastern English town of Lowestoft, a wall on which the work of street artist Banksy once stood has been demolished. The community said they were not aware of the demolition. A spokesman told the BBC that the piece of wall containing the artwork was removed overnight. Since the building it is associated with is privately owned, the municipality had no authority and no information about what the owner was planning.

The city’s mayor, Alan Green, said recently that he had been assured the work would not be removed. The wall was just a scaffold to hold it up.

The artwork has attracted tourists to Lowestoft

Banksy sprayed a huge seagull on the wall of the house in 2021. It looked like she was going to throw herself on the trash can in front of her. Three artworks by the obscure artist have appeared in Lowestoft. According to the town, the seagull has been a magnet for tourists and has made Lowestoft a talking point on the national stage.

Banksy gained worldwide fame for his stencil art. Initially, they were mainly found in and around the English city of Bristol. It is therefore assumed that the artist is from Great Britain. However, Banksy has maintained his real name and identity for years.

Recently, Banksy has been receiving attention for the artwork he left in destroyed buildings in Ukraine.

These Banksy drawings were discovered in November 2022 near the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
