Battelle is now a contractor under the Joint Enterprise Contracted Logistics and Services Support Multi-Award Task Order Contract, which will allow the company to bid on defense work, including both biological and chemical.
Battelle has worked with the U.S. Army before and has held a contract for the past nine years for Contractor Logistics Support.
“We’re very proud of the logistics support we’ve provided to JPEO for the past nine years and pleased that we will have the opportunity to continue this important work with the strong team we’ve assembled,” Matt Shaw, general manager of Battelle’s CBRNE defense business, said. “We’ll stick to our mission of providing innovative, responsive and cost-effective logistic support services to our clients.”
The work will extend over the next five years, provided by the JE-Class Multi-Award Order Contract's $900 million in funding. Battelle will provide services to the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense.
The systems that Battelle will work on include reconnaissance systems and biological and chemical projects. It will also work on vaccines, drugs and medical devices.
