The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking an explosives specialist at Dallas Love Field Airport in Texas.

For this position, citizenship or nationalization is required, and candidates must be able to obtain secret security clearance. Candidates will also be required to have certification from an accredited bomb disposal program.

This position is tasked with responding to any alerts that involve explosive material, suspected explosive materials and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats. This person will evaluate the components of suspected devices to determine the existence of possible improvised explosive devices (IED).

This person will be expected to develop and conduct training for other transportation security officers and airport staff. This position will also make recommendations for emergency management and security procedures in relation to explosives.

Candidates are required to have at least one year of experience at the GS-11 of government service or at the SV-G pay band with the TSA. Specialized experience must consist of assisting in bomb program management through a military or civilian bomb disposal unit. Candidates should have working experience in response to security alarms involving potential explosives, IEDs and CBRN material.
