PositiveID acquires E-N-G Mobile Systems

PositiveID Corporation has acquired E-N-G Mobile Systems Inc. (ENG), the corporation announced Tuesday.

ENG is focused on the development of vehicles that are fitted to suit mobile laboratory, news, communication and emergency response needs. The company has served customers with in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Department of Homeland Security, local and state governments, alongside private companies. The ENG has averaged approximately $4 million prior to taxes in earnings.

“This transformational acquisition strengthens our ability to execute our strategy of providing cutting-edge biological detection and diagnostics solutions to address large market needs,” William Caragol, chairman and CEO of PositiveID, said. “The acquisition of ENG will broaden and diversify PositiveID’s revenue base and provide a strong foundation for future growth while we continue the development and testing of our real-time pathogen detection system, Firefly Dx. We believe the combination of the companies will improve our ability to deliver stockholder value.”

According to the announcement, ENG has seen growth in the development of its mobile lab offerings within vehicles. The mobile labs’ capacities include field testing in biological, chemical, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) activity. PositiveID believes that this acquisition will facilitate enhancements in technology by combining the focus of both companies.
