USAF seeks emergency management program manager
This position serves the USAF Global Strike Command.
For this position, applicants must meet certain criteria: employment with the USAF or Department of Defense (DOD) transfer from another branch or from another non-DOD agency. Men born after Dec. 31, 1959, must be registered with the selective service. Eligibility may also be obtained under the Veterans Employment Opportunity Act.
Primary tasks under this position include the development, translation and interpretation of plans and other mechanisms that ensure appropriate response to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) and other incidents within emergency management arenas. This person will also serve as a subject matter expert on emergency management and CBRN response activities.
This position will be expected to present information in briefings, consultations, strategy sessions and in training activities.
Also required is at least one year of experience at the GS-11 level of government work or equivalent with specialized experience in emergency management and response, knowledge of the National Incident Management System and the Air Force Incident Management System.
This position requires knowledge and competency in emergency management programming and principles, planning and programming budgeting systems within the USAF and the federal government. Candidates must be able to communicate in verbal and written forms in an effective manner.
