The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is seeking a training instructor for combat medics.

This position is currently open to federal employees that serve under career or career-conditional appointments in the competitive service; former employees with reinstatement eligibility; Veteran’s Employment Opportunities Act (VEOAP) eligible applicants; and those that are eligible under other transition and military programs. This position is based in San Antonio, Texas.

This person serves as an instructor for the Department of Combat Medic Training (DCMT) and will be tasked with providing standardized instruction and testing for health care personnel and combat medics in the U.S. Army. This person will also be expected to provide recommendations for instructional program improvements for other areas including emergency medical technician training.

This position requires at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level of government service. This can include private and public sector work with specialized experience in providing emergency medical instruction to responders in military or civilian arenas. These may be substituted with a master’s or higher degree in a field related to the position.

Candidates are also required to hold U.S. citizenship and must be registered with the Selective Service.
