U.S. Army announces Industry Day for JPM-MCS.

The U.S. Army announced through the Federal Business Opportunities website an Industry Day for Joint Project Manager for Medical Countermeasures (JPM-MCS) that will take place on Nov. 2.

During the event, the JPM-MCS will be providing information on requirements and objectives for a proposed consortium formed to advance the development of pharmaceutical, medical and diagnostic technologies for the Department of Defense. This program serves with the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense. Their focus is to facilitate the development of medical solutions to protect military forces and civilians.

The JPM-MCS focuses on four areas of research: medical protection against chemical agents; preventative technology and treatments for prophylaxis, post-exposure and post-symptomatic therapeutics; and detection systems for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

This industry day event will be taking place on Nov. 2 at the Crowne Plaza in Fairfield, New Jersey. It will begin at 8 a.m. (ET) and is expected to conclude at 5 p.m.

Letters of intent will be requested from organizations and individuals that have interest in forming the consortium and will lead to the determination of how to move forward.

Deputy Joint Program Executive Officer for Chemical and Biological Defense Douglas Bryce and Director of the Chemical and Biological Technologies Department for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Ronald Hann will be presenting the opening remarks.
