FEMA posts three open positions
Federal coordinating officers are needed at the Denver, Colorado and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania offices. This position is tasked with the leading and coordination of federal disaster assistance to affected local and state governments. This position also will be tasked with the management of external relations including the local community and the media, and will communicate the availability of assistance to Congress, the general public and applicants.
The position was originally listed with a top security clearance requirement, but that requirement has since been changed to a public trust clearance level.
There are several division supervisor positions available, with job location negotiable after selection.
A division supervisor is within the FEMA Reservist Program. The supervisor is tasked with acting as the primary contact with emergency managers at the county and local level, and with tribal and state partners. This person also will provide a report of operation progress and will take part in incident action planning when necessary. This position also will be charged with implementation of an assigned portion of incident action plans, and will coordinate with Emergency Support Functions, Recovery Support Functions, the Operations Branch Director and other branches within FEMA.
The program analyst position will be based at the Atlanta, Georgia office. This position is responsible for the evaluation of agency programs and their effectiveness. Typical assignments may include serving as a regional point of contact, and implementing Assistance to Firefighters Grants and other related preparedness grant programs.
