Lawrence Livermore lab seeks emergency exercise program manager

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in California announced in a job posting Monday that it is seeking an emergency exercise manager.

The manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the lab's emergency drills and exercises program and will be expected to interact with senior management, laboratory staff and outside agencies associated with the federal government and other outside entities.

The manager will be tasked with the development of drills and programs which includes a multiyear drill and plan consistent with requirements set by the U.S. Department of Energy. This position will serve as the exercise director for all drill and exercise activity relating to emergency response and management. This person will also be expected to be able to detect problems within the drill and exercise programs and their underlying technical planning. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert in relation to emergency drills and exercise planning. This position will require engineering and highly technical experience.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Applicants should have a significant amount of experience in emergency drill and exercise design and implementation and advanced knowledge of the technical planning basis for emergency management.
