UC Davis Health System seeks emergency planner

The University of California Davis Health System has an opening for an emergency planner, according to a job opening posted Wednesday.

This candidate hired will be tasked with assisting and managing special projects to help state and local entities be prepared and be able to respond to public health emergencies. This will include acting as a subject matter expert and developing and implementing training exercises to help the California Department of Public Health. This team member will also be expected to review current emergency response policies and procedures and develop new plans as necessary.

This person will also coordinate with state, local and federal agencies and with health care providers in emergency planning and response.

This position requires a master's degree in public health and experience as a registered nurse or similar combination of education and working experience. This position will require extensive knowledge of emergency management and response procedures, and candidates should have experience with the Incident Command System and working within the California health care system. Candidates should be knowledgeable in emergency planning and be able to review emergency response and management plans.

Candidates also  should have a strong grasp on writing and editing for routine correspondence and should have excellent analytical and communication skills. Interested candidates should visit the UC Davis Medical Center website to apply.
