CNL seeks emergency operations section head

The Canadian Nuclear Laboratory (CNL) has an opening for an emergency operations section head.

This position oversees firefighting personnel and the Nuclear Security Officer. The person will be expected to ensure the delivery of fire and security services to the Whiteshell Laboratories Decommissioning Project in a way that meets both budgetary and capability needs.

This person also will take part in security and fire incident investigations alongside CNL management and with Emergency Services Operations personnel. This position also will be involved in the administration of branch training and will delegate certain tasks to instructors of the training program.

The successful candidate must have a high school-level education supplemented with eight to 10 years of work experience with progressively higher levels of responsibility within the area of fire services and security. Candidates should have working knowledge of accepted fire and security procedures, and they should be familiar with laws and regulations associated with these areas.

Candidates should be able to develop concise and accurate reports, and will be required to know or be able to develop their skills in software utilized in this position.
