Gus Derezes has hit the floor running as the new vice president of sales at Prepared Response, Inc., where he will be focused on the company’s overall growth strategy and pursuing expanded market initiatives.
“My track record of strong sales team leadership as well as accelerating sales growth aligns well with the corporate goals and expectations … to expand our customer base throughout North America,” Derezes, who brings more than 30 years of experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies to the job, recently told BioPrepWatch.
Prepared Response, which specializes in technology and consulting services within the emergency management and response arena, is particularly keen on expanding the reach of its flagship Rapid Responder system, Derezes said.
Currently, the Kirkland, Washington-based company’s Rapid Responder system is used in 27 states, the District of Columbia and Canada to mitigate lockdowns, active shooter situations and bomb threats. Derezes also plans to focus on having the company’s emergency preparedness and crisis management system utilized across the country.
“Our Rapid Responder service offering is both dynamic and robust,” Derezes said. “As a leader in emergency preparedness and crisis management, we easily envision operating within every state.”
Additionally, he said that because the company’s goals have always been “to provide a quality service at an attractive price,” Prepared Response has migrated to an SaaS platform – or software as a service, which is a way of delivering applications over the Internet as a service sans the installation and maintenance of complex software and hardware.
This also “reduces the initial capital required by a client to take advantage of our comprehensive industry-leading technology,” Derezes said, adding that the SaaS platform “will assist us greatly in capturing marketshare, offering our technology and service to expanded verticals.”
At the same time, as Prepared Response moves into new market verticals, he said the company may learn of new desires and requirements from clients “and I am confident that we will respond accordingly.”
“There is always opportunity for continuous improvement,” Derezes said. “Prepared Response is a company driven by employees acknowledged for innovation, [and] we will listen to the needs and desires of the marketplace and expand our offerings when it makes sense.”
In fact, he said, company developers are constantly working on new and improved products. For example, the newly released Easy Alert system allows individuals real-time notification and communication capabilities as incidents occur.
Moving forward, Derezes said that as a member of the senior staff, he is tasked with evaluating opportunities and taking appropriate actions toward capturing additional marketshare.
“I was hired as a complement to the existing professionals working at Prepared Response,” he said. “I am surrounded by employees who are committed to the corporate goals and objectives, and I do not anticipate major changes.”
