Washington seeks emergency management planning strategist

The Emergency Management Division of the Washington Military Department has an opening for an emergency management planning strategist.

This position is responsible for strategic emergency planning and hazard analysis. It will be involved in the development and coordination of planning and analysis for the department. 

The person will serve as the program manager in this area and be tasked with the preparation of the Washington Fixed Nuclear Facility Protection Plan. In addition, the person will be expected to update and prepare emergency plans specific to radiological procedures. This will involve the review and revision of federally funded programs for radiological response in line with evaluation results and real-time incidents. This person also will be expected to identify hazards and requirements in order to ensure appropriate response of the state's Emergency Operations Center.

This position requires either two years of experience as an emergency management program specialist level two or a bachelor's degree in a related field, plus at least four years of professional experience in emergency management public information and affairs, program and project management, financial management, training or education, or another related field. Advanced degrees will substitute for one year of professional experience.
