Calgary seeks emergency operations manager

The Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) announced in a job posting on Thursday that they have an opening for a manager of emergency operations.

This position is responsible for oversight of emergency management operations for the city, involving development of project plans and their implementation, being a source if strategic oversight on social service programs at local and regional levels. This person will also be tasked with the development of risk analysis and plans and will be involved in business unit decisions with the Administrative Leadership Team and others in departmental management.

This person will also be expected to establish and maintain important partnerships with local entities including the Oil and Gas Stakeholders and the Calgary Airport Authority, Transit, Infrastructure and Information Services.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in an area relating to disaster and emergency management, general management, administrator and business. Candidates will also need at least four years of working for a municipal or corporate organization that involved budgeting, and other core business activities. Preference is given to those that have worked with emergency operation centers. Certification, supervisory experience and previous experience will also be considered.
