Venske joins Block Engineering

Mark Venske has been selected as Block Engineering's vice president for sales and marketing, the company announced Tuesday.

The company specializes in the manufacturing of quantum cascade laser (QCL) infrared spectroscopy solutions that are commonly used industrial, military and governmental applications.

Venske has previously served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics program specialist, and as vice president at PAC of Roper Inc.

"I joined Block because they have the most advanced QCL spectroscopy product lines in the industry," Venske said. "With my knowledge of infrared spectroscopy, I look forward to expanding the QCL product family to a wide range of gas and liquid analysis applications."

As the vice president of sales and marketing, he will be charged with the leading of activity relating to international sales, business development and marketing. He will be focusing on promoting the CQL technology from Block to analysis markets of oil and gas, chemical gas, liquid and semiconductor sectors.

"Mark has an impressive track record selling sophisticated instruments for industrial process control, environmental monitoring, and laboratory analysis in the oil and gas, chemical, semiconductor, and other industries," Block Executive Chairman Daniel Cavicchio Jr. said.

CEO Petros Kotidis said the company is honored to have Venske as part of the team that will be charged with the development of relations with strategic partners and clients.
