Keolis supports international police and firefighting games
The World Police and Fire Games is a collection of sporting and athletic events, similar in scope to the Olympic Games, that brings police and firefighting personnel from around the world to compete for medals. This year, the games are taking place in Fairfax County, Virginia.
"As one of the world's leading operators of public transit system, Keolis works closely with police and public safety teams to ensure the safety of our passengers, our employees and the communities we serve, particularly here in Northern Virginia where we operate the Virginia Railway Express," Keolis North America General Manager Eric Asselin said. "We're truly honored to support the World Games and these hero-athletes who have traveled from across the globe to compete for the gold."
Events that make up the games include billiards, pistol action and combat, wrestling, ice hockey and track and field events, among many others.
In the past Keolis Commuter Services was a financial supporter of the Boston Police Department's ice hockey team. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is one of many that operates under Keolis companies. The games will be taking place at venues throughout Fairfax County between June 26 and July 5.
