York Region, Canada, seeks emergency plans and operations program manager

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer of York Region in Ontario, Canada, is seeking a program manager in emergency plans and operations.

Applications for the position will be accepted until Tuesday.
The program manager is largely responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of comprehensive emergency management programs. This plan would entail regional preparedness, recovery and response activity in the case of an emergency or disaster situation.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in an area related to public administration or emergency management or an adequate combination of education and professional working experience. Candidates must also have at least three years of relevant professional working experience in emergency management. Candidates should be well-versed in emergency management programs and their development and management practices relating to human resources, leadership, financial and business planning and other areas.

A valid Ontario driver's license will be required along with a reliable means of transportation. Work outside of the normal work week will be expected in emergency situations. Candidates should have proficiency with Windows operating systems and with Microsoft Office software applications.
