Annapolis, Maryland, seeking emergency planner
This position develops a comprehensive set of plans that enhance the city's ability to prepare for response and recovery in the case of an emergency or disaster situation. This person will act as a liaison to other departments within city government and work on interdepartmental projects. This position may be expected to contribute to several plans, including the Continuity of Government, Emergency Operations Plan and Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans.
Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms, and candidates should have knowledge of the interpretation of statistical data. Four years of college or university study is required, with at least two years of professional work experience or an equivalent combination of work and education.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in emergency management or a related field, two years of service in a field related to emergency management, familiarity with the Maryland Emergency Preparedness System, or a similar system from another state, and proficiency in WebEOC and ICS 300 or higher certification.
