Department of Energy seeks supervisor, emergency management specialist

The Department of Energy (DOE) announced an opening for an emergency management specialist to serve in a supervisory position at their Germantown, Maryland, office, they stated in a job posting on May 14.

This position will serve as the director for the DOE's Office of Emergency Management Assessments and will oversee the direction of the office and its adequacy in terms of policy. This position will conduct assessments on performance with emergency management and can include preparedness, planning, recovery, response and other items. This position is also expected to delegate work to subordinates and review and implement corrective action when necessary.

Basic requirements state that candidates must be citizens of the U.S. and pass a background or security investigation. An educational background is encouraged among applicants; any educational background will be heavily considered in the selection process. Résumé and application should indicate at least a year of specialized work in the GS-14 grade of federal service or equivalent in the private sector. This position requires DOE Q clearance and is subject to testing for illegal drug use.
