Hawaii Emergency Management Agency seeks training, education and information officer

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency has an opening for a civil defense training, education and information officer, they announced in a recent job posting.

This position is responsible for the organization, planning and supervision of training, educational and information dissemination for the state. This includes working with warning and disaster reporting programs and operating them in the case of an emergency disaster situation. This position is also expected to continually revise and update warnings and other necessary emergency-related information.

This person would also disseminate information to the public regarding protocols, survival and, if necessary, evacuation orders. This position also serves as a point of contact for federal training programs relating to homeland security, as well as a grant administrator.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university and at least one year of professional working experience in an area that is related to this field, one that required independent evaluation and analysis. Candidates should also have up to two-and-a-half years of training or education experience relating to the design and implementation of training and educational programs. Additionally, candidates need to have one year of supervisory experience.
