Boston Public Health Commission seeks a senior program manager

The Boston Public Health Commission recently posted a job opening for a senior program manager whose duties would include the development, implementation and management of Office of Public Health Preparedness (OPHP) programs.

This senior program manager will also manage financial operations and participate in operations relating to response and recovery; prepare reports and proposals; review and analyze data; cooperate on specific projects with others; manage the office's budget and purchasing; lead development of revenue generation activity; and supervise staff. In a response and recovery aspect, the senior program manager is tasked with the development and execution of financing and administrative positions during and after an emergency or disaster situation.

Candidates should hold a combination of relevant project management positions and education. Those with a master's degree in a related area would need one year of working experience, while those with a bachelor's would need at least three years. Those with no university or college experience would need six years of related work experience.

Applicants with experience in emergency preparedness or in health care will be given preference. Those with experience in grant writing, purchasing and contract execution will also be preferred.
