United Nations seeks five program officers
These positions are responsible for the development, evaluation and implementation of assigned projects and programs. The officers also will analyze documents and reports relating to their projects, take part in consultation and workshop facilitation and planning activities, and lead complex field missions under guidance from external operatives and government officials. They will work with senior U.N. officers.
Candidates should hold a master's degree or higher in a field relating to management, natural and environmental sciences, or business administration and have seven years experience in international project or program management. Four years of specified experience in disaster risk reduction or a related field is preferred.
Applicants must be fluent in English, while proficiency in Arabic and French are also desired. Those who know another U.N. official language would be favored over those who do not. Candidates should show evidence of professionalism including knowledge of risk reduction practices and the ability to apply judgment with regard to conflicting priorities among other items. Candidates should be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and be able to work in a group setting.
