PositiveID to exhibit Firefly Dx at military symposium
The Conference will run from Aug. 18-21.
PositiveID will feature its Firefly Dx system at the event. The handheld system allows for point-of-need medical diagnostics and biothreat detection, and was designed to meet military health needs with the capability to detect pathogens within minutes in a field setting.
The annual MHSRS Conference is a joint symposium hosted by the Department of Defense. The event allows for military medical care providers, DoD scientists, academia and industry to exchange information in a collaborative environment, as well providing a scholarly forum for the development of future studies.
Specific areas focused on in the conference include combat casualty care, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and military infectious disease research programs. The Conference emphasizes common areas of knowledge to maximize the relationship between the different branches of the armed services while acknowledging service-specific capabilities.
PositiveID develops detection systems for both the defense industry and rapid biological testing. The company specializes in microfluidic systems for the automated preparation and performance of biological assays to detect threats and analyze samples.
