DHS accepting applications for security preparedness grant

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is currently accepting submissions for funding under the Homeland Security Preparedness Technical Assistance Program (HSPTAP).

The deadline for grant submissions is June 25.

The HSPTAP grant will fund up to $525,000 for activities aimed at achieving the National Preparedness Goal. Those activities include the production and dissemination of written products relating to emerging homeland security issues, providing educational seminars and sharing information with key stakeholder groups on a regular basis.

Funding will also be provided for trainings, workshops and other meetings designed to bring together emergency management agencies and professional organizations in the public and private sectors at the local, state and tribal levels.

Pre-award costs, as well as costs for construction and renovation costs, are not included as part of the grant.

Applicants for the HSPTAP grant must submit documents including Standard Form 424A and Standard Form 424B, as well as apply for, update or verify their DUNS, EIN and SAM numbers.

Submissions can be made through grants.gov.

The awards for projects under the HSPTAP grant will be announced by Aug. 15. Awardees will be notified by email and are required to accept the funding no later than 90 days from the award date.
