Clawson joins House Homeland Security Committee

Rep. Curt Clawson (R-Fla.) joined the House Committee on Homeland Security this week.

Clawson will also serve on the Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security and the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, according to a Homeland Security Committee press release.

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said Clawson's experience makes him an ideal choice for the role.

"I am pleased to welcome Representative Curt Clawson to the Committee," McCaul said. "His management experience in both large and small companies will be invaluable as we continue to conduct oversight of the Department of Homeland Security, the third largest federal agency. In addition, his firsthand experience working on the border the will be a great addition to the Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security."

Clawson expressed his gratitude for his selection to the Committee.

"I am deeply honored by the faith and confidence Chairman McCaul and the House leadership have placed in me," Clawson said. "At present, Chairman McCaul's Committee is knee deep in the human crisis on our southern border and working to keep all of our borders secure. Keeping our homeland safe and secure is paramount to our way of life and I am grateful for the opportunity to get to work on the Committee."
