CCAT announces latest solicitations to address first responder priorities
The CCAT is partnering with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas' Security Affairs Domestic Preparedness Support (DPS) initiative on the solicitation. Representatives from the DPS initiative program office identified the solicitation's priority first responder requirements.
The focus areas for the opportunity include first responder training and simulation tools, personal protective clothing and equipment, crowdsourcing innovations to assist in disaster response, biometric technologies, and other groundbreaking dual-use technology that can provide a solution to first responders.
The training and simulation tools should be readily accessible, high-fidelity tools that would allow responders from multiple agencies, jurisdictions and disciplines to train for and participate in coordinated exercises. The personal protective clothing and equipment would be used to provide health, safety and protection to first responders against a variety of hazards.
The solicitation is seeking crowdsourcing innovations to determine how to leverage the community to filter information and provide timely disaster response. The biometric technologies sought by the solicitation include portable handheld biotechologies that can search multiple databases for hazard matches and devices that can monitor first responder performance factors.
The CCAT invites industry applicants to submit proposals that address one of the solicitation topic areas. The technology must have been supported, at least in part, by funding from the DoD.
Applications will be accepted through August 6.
