Kratos wins multibillion dollar national security contract

National security products developer Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., announced on Tuesday that it won an approximately $14 billion contract for hardened, transportable facilities for the federal government.

The contract will be carried out by the company's Modular Systems Division (KMSD) at secure Kratos manufacturing facilities.

"We are proud to have received this recent order to provide these critically important secure and hardened facilities in support of this U.S. national security initiative," Tom Mills, the president of KMSD, said.

Kratos will build specialized and secure transportable facilities, products and systems for an unspecified U.S. government program under the award.

The company said that no other information could be provided about the contract due to customer related and other considerations.

KMSD products support technology and disruptive programs, including unmanned systems, radar and missile systems, electronic rail guns and CBRNE sensing programs, as well as surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance platforms.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions focuses specifically on engineering, manufacturing and systems integration for the U.S. defense system. The company employs a staff of approximately 3,600 people.

Most of the company's work is done at military bases, secure facilities or critical infrastructure locations.
