ARA elects new member of board

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., an international research and defense technologies company, announced on Friday that it elected George Ullrich as a member of its board of directors, effective May 22.

Ullrich, who joined ARA in September after a distinguished career in industry and government, currently serves as the company's senior vice president of strategy development.

"We look forward to the expertise he will bring to the ARA board," John Healey, the chairman of ARA's board of directors, said.

Before joining ARA, Ullrich served as the chief technology officer at Schafer Corporation and as the senior vice president for advanced technology programs at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Ullrich held several senior-level executive positions within the DoD during his 30 years of service with the federal government.

Ullrich will replace Lawrence Twisdale on the board. Twisdale served as a director of ARA since 1987 and will continue in his roles as the director of technical quality and the lead of ARA's Intrarisk Group.

"Larry's active participation in board matters and his inputs to its deliberations have been invaluable to the board in carrying out its critically important functions and will be missed," Healey said.

ARA provides in-depth and diversified research, engineering and technical support services in the defense, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, simulation, systems analysis, environmental and computer software industries.
