Defense Threat Reduction Agency issues request for information
DTRA is conducting market research to identify contractors that can support the "functional defeat of WMDs," Global Biodefense reports.
The contractors must have the capability to test and validate technologies related to Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) technologies and solutions for CBRNE simulants, non-traditional simulants and energetic materials, according to Global Biodefense.
Specific tasks involved with the development of CWMD and other technologies include test sampling, weapons effects engineering, agent defeat and modeling and simulation.
Contractors will be required to perform scientific, engineering and other technical services and complete tasks up to and including top secret classification levels.
DRTA is asking that responders include company contact information, including size and category. Applicants were also asked to include detailed information on their ability to satisfy the requirements of the request.
The deadline for the DRTA request for information is June 12, Global Biodefense reports.
DRTA is the official combat support agency dealing with weapons of mass destruction at the U.S. Department of Defense. DRTA's programs include research and development, operational support and a think tank that anticipates and attempts to mitigate future threats.
