SAIC receives $13 million contract from DTRA
The single-award, cost-plus-fixed-fee task order contains a one-year period of performance, a 12-month option and a total contract value of $13 million. SAIC, a technology integration company, will provide sustainment support to the programs funded by the DTRA's cooperative threat reduction (CTR) operations. Such programs include material acquisition, disposition, evacuation, maintenance, distribution, movement and storage.
Materials acquired by SAIC for the DTRA must support CTR mission objectives and may include transportation vehicles, consumables, supplies, reagents and equipment.
"SAIC's long-standing support to DTRA and (Department of Defense) programs has allowed us to expand our efforts worldwide to support their CTR mission," Mark Escobar, the senior vice president of SAIC, said. "This is a critical international mission that we are proud to be a part of alongside DTRA's team."
SAIC will also provide maintenance support services, such as infrastructure assessment and repairs.
The DTRA is the DoD's official combat support agency for countering WMDs.
SAIC provides life-cycle services and solutions in the engineering, technical and enterprise information technology markets. The company serves customers in the U.S. federal government, global commercial markets and state and local governments.
