Pentagon posts opening for CBRNE director in Arlington, Va.

The United States is looking for a Director for the CBRNE to work in the Office of the Principal Assistant Director for Law Enforcement in the Pentagon, according to a hiring notice posted on Sunday at

The director will work in Arlington, Va., have top security clearance and travel occasionally.

The person hired will be responsible for any CBRNE threat detection and response operations that affect Pentagon facilities. They will lead an expert staff, including armed federal law enforcement, hazardous materials and bomb technicians, scientists and program management staff.

The director will lead a comprehensive mail screening program, a CBRNE sensor detection and protection program, a first responder hazmat team and a FBI accredited bomb squad team. They will also run and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory to test for environmental biothreats.

In addition to directing strategic planning and program management, the director will work under the National Incident Management System and collaborate with other federal, state and local law enforcement and emergency services.

Qualified applicants must have specialized relevant experience in the private or military sector and possess post-graduate education. They must have demonstrated ability to coordinate emergency response operations with multiple agencies and departments, as well as plan operations and exercises to maintain readiness.
