The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is looking for a disaster recovery supervisor to work in the Disaster Recovery Office, according to a recent job posting on the state's website.
The full-time position is based in Framingham and requires some travel during emergency situations.
The supervisor will coordinate and monitor program activities to ensure they complete and comply with program objectives. They also will review program data to analyze progress, effectiveness and legal compliance.
The person hired will implement MEMA activities with a focus on FEMA's Public Assistance program, which provides federal financial reimbursement for disaster-related costs.
The supervisor will manage day-to-day work of the MEMA disaster recovery unit and work with the section chief to initiate and coordinate assistance programs.
During a disaster, the person in this role would work at the Joint Field Office to ensure successful program administration and implementation, and participate in emergency operations response at the State Emergency Operations Center.
The supervisor may be required to work overnight, weekends and be available during off hours.
To be qualified for the position, applicants must have direct experience and knowledge of FEMA's disaster assistance programs, policies and procedures. Applicants must have previous supervisor and project management experience. A background in civil engineering is preferred.
