FEMA seeks program specialist in Denton, Texas
The full-time position is expected to last no more than two years and will require potentially extensive travel in support of emergency operations. Employees may be required to relocate to emergency sites with operationally challenging and physically austere conditions.
The individual hired will become a member of the Recovery Directorate of FEMA's National Processing Service Center Operations Division. The specialist will provide individual assistance program support to a staff of human service specialists. Responsibilities include assisting staff with eligibility determinations, collecting and analyzing disaster information from entities impacted by disasters, supporting case processing matters, developing and implementing response readiness standards and conducting detailed analysis of program performance.
Candidates must have specialized experience at or equivalent to the general schedule-9 federal level, either three full years of higher level graduate education or have completed the requirements for a Ph.D. or a combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
The ideal candidate will have experience processing disaster assistance applications under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.
