Capital Consulting Corporation awarded contract for U.S. Army biennial bioscience conference

The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity said on Friday that it will issue a single-source, firm-fixed price contract to Capital Consulting Corporation to facilitate its biennial chemical defense and bioscience conference review.

CCC will be awarded an estimated $82,000 to facilitate the 19th Biennial U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense BioScience Conference Review, according to Global Biodefense.

The biennial conference review assists the USAMRICD with its mission by disseminating medical chemical defense research findings and progress and establishing scientific collaborations among contractors and government staff, Global Biodefense reports.

The conference also provides an assessment of the agency's progress toward its goals, assesses program priorities and identifies the direction of future programs.

CCC is headquartered in Rockville, Md., and provides domestic and international conference planning and management. It takes care of technical and scientific support services, health communications, audio, visual and web services, as well as research and evaluation for federal government clients, according to Global Biodefense.

Approximately 270 attendees from 11 countries attended the bioscience conference review in 2012 to present their research.

The USAMRICD has state-of-the-art laboratories located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., where it manages chemical warfare research projects for the Department of the Defense. It is the nation's leading science and technology laboratory for medical chemical countermeasures research and development.
